Assignment Goals
The goals of this assignment are to demonstrate mastery of image editing skills, color, and composition as well as the use of images to tell or illustrate a historical narrative. We are to include a narrative that is an account of the steps taken to achieve the effects, and we are allowed to combine techniques in a single image. We are to create a web page that specifically includes the following:
- A cropped & resized image.
- A restored photograph.
- A hand-colored photograph.
- A vignetted photograph.
- A matted engraving.
- A “before & after” of two examples.
For my project, I scanned, cropped, and resized all images except for the engraving. All of the images were scratched and had dust or other discoloration that had to be cleaned up.
